Perplex Jones
Perplex spent most of his early life helping his father construct a bunker that he would then call home until he joins the PV8. Though his father works hard to keep him safe, he goes missing shortly before the bunker is completed, leaving the ghosts of 3 of his ancestors as his main guardians. (Rob H. Jones, Robbie W Jones, Robert F Jones) They tell him of the immanent destruction of humanity at the government's hands, and raise him to stop it before it's too late. They stress the importance of being self-sufficient and self-reliant, causing him to be an island from the people he's supposed to save. He doesn't see much of a reason to fight for humanity's survival when everyone he cares about is already dead, but goes along with it for his guardian's sake. He makes videos and posts them online as warnings for the future that is to come, and also to have a saved record of the information he knows. But his videos are perceived as a complicated ARG, and gains a large following unbeknownst to him.

PERPLEX MY SON!!!
I’m 90% sure the Pixelville crew were my first ever completely original characters. They were never from a fanfiction or from anything I had seen before. I came up with the idea for them in 2011. Video game characters that gained sentience and came to life to compete in tournaments to win money for their arcade.
… and then Wreck-it-Ralph came out in 2012 and that took the wind out of my sails for a long while.
I was afraid to post them at first, so a lot of early art has been lost. The idea went from a fun and silly story about characters working together to a more edgier story when I tried to make it as distinct as possible. At one point, I had the idea to have them all be video game characters that became sentient after an apocalypse that wiped out humans. They would go insane trying to figure out what happened before the power went out.
Perplex wasn’t supposed to be the main character at first. In fact, he was the antagonist in most of the versions I wrote of the Pixelville story. But when I changed the characters into content creators instead of video game characters, I finally found a place for him at the front of everything.
Here’s a photo of the earliest drawing I have of Perplex.
