Regio Corona
Regio is the main character of Let's Get Lost! A story where he and his best friend, Lyall-Dean Kedves, come up with a plan to escape from their boring lives and run away to live in the forest together. Regio always had high hopes for himself. They always felt like he had to be exceptional so that they may join the ranks of their relatives who had all moved to E-Earth. Regio's family was the last of the Corona's on Clemiar, and he always missed the big family he grew up in. Graduating high school seemed to have made all his problems worse too. Instead of talking to anyone, he only has L-D by his side- and even then he can't tell them *everything* . Their only hope was to graduate with high enough grades to get into a good college with a full ride scholarship.. but he didn't. His mental health got the better of them, and it caused him to spiral even further. Cue Lyall-Dean bursting in to distract him at his lowest moments though! If there's one thing Regio can rely on it's L-D sneaking into his house to drag him out of bed to go dumpster diving, or to egg someone's house, or to just sit on a rock and talk til sunrise.

Regio is a character that I have had for the longest while, and yet am still struggling to find out his identity. They originated from a Minecraft fanfiction I wrote in 2014, and it’s been a WILD ride to get to the person we know today. There is always one constant in his story, however: Lyall-Dean. They always seem to find each other no matter what universe they’re in.
In the first original work Regio ever starred in, his name was actually Dean. He was a detective tracking down a criminal mastermind named Lyall. They somehow end up handcuffed to each other and lost deep in the woods. There is a 20 page first draft of this story somewhere in my room right now.
The second story I tried to write for him, his name was Regal. They were a cautious and closed off boy living in a post-apocalyptic world. One day, he meets an adventurer named Ballad who tries to convince him to run away with him and see all the sights the ruined cities had to offer. There is also a first draft of this somewhere in my room. It was a failed NaNoWriMo project from 2019. It was titled “A Royal Lovesong”
At some point in 2020, during the COVID quarantine, I revisited those characters and came up with the Regio and Lyall-Dean we know today.
It’s still been a struggle discovering who Regio is meant to be- I think it’s because I see so much of myself in them. Their fear of change and depression and apathetic outlook on life are parts of myself that I don’t really like, but that I can’t hide in this story. I think the reason I struggled so much with his identity is because I still haven’t figured my own out yet.
